Prof. Dr. Peter Buntrock
Specialist in Pathology
Having studied, earned his doctorate and completed his habilitation in Berlin, he worked for many years as a clinical pathologist and in university teaching at the Charité, most recently as deputy head of institute. In the early 1990s he built up our institute together with senior lecturer Dieter Kranz. From 2007 initially with Dr Frank Rublack and from 2017 with his son Björn Buntrock, he led the institute until mid-2023. He is still an important part of the institute and supports us with help and advice.

Dr. Frank Rublack
Specialist in Pathology | Specialist in Forensic Medicine
Born in the heart of the Spreewald, Dr Frank Rublack first studied medicine in Berlin, where he obtained his board certification in forensic medicine and later also in pathology. After working as a senior physician in Cottbus, he joined Prof Dr Buntrock at the Bioptisches Institut Berlin as its second owner. In 2022 he transferred his ownership to Michal Halejcio and has since continued to support us actively on a part-time basis.

Björn Buntrock
Specialist in Pathology
Björn Buntrock studied medicine in Marburg until 2009 and took a detour into neurology before devoting himself entirely to pathology and obtaining his board certification in 2015. He has practised at institutes in Tel Aviv, Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin and finally joined the Bioptisches Institut in 2017. Since 2020 he has been a self-employed pathologist, taking over the baton from his father, the founder of the Bioptisches Institut.

Michal Halejcio
Specialist in Pathology
After completing his medical studies in 2011 at the Karol Marcinkowski University in Poznań, he began his specialist training in clinical pathology at the University Hospital in Poznań, where he also taught Polish and English-speaking students. In 2013 he moved to Germany, continued his training at Klinikum Frankfurt (Oder) and was successfully certified there as a specialist. In 2022 he took over ownership from Dr Frank Rublack.
